Practice administration

What’s new in VeraBlue

Beta 0.6.4

  • Behind-the-scenes settings update, with no change for your practice or patients.

Beta 0.6.3 · Oct 21

  • Vera's animated portrait loads faster. It's sent compressed, and returning patients' phones keep it, so on a weak connection she starts right away instead of after a long wait.

Beta 0.6.2 · Oct 18

  • The “undo” link in Firebase’s “You’ve added 2-step verification” email now opens a working page on the admin account-action page. It removes the newly added second factor and tells the person to reset their password and contact support.

Beta 0.6.1 · Oct 18

  • Password setup, password reset and email verification messages now come from VeraBlue and open the account page for the site you are using

Beta 0.6.0 · Oct 16

  • New: a “Voice conversations over time” chart on the Overview page shows how many voice conversations patients have had with Vera over the last 30 days, 90 days or 13 months, the busiest moment, which devices patients used, and a count for each doctor
  • Each doctor’s Usage tab shows the same chart for that doctor alone

Beta 0.5.0 · Oct 15

  • New: download the letter handout and Lens Preference sheet together as one PDF, ready to print double-sided on a single sheet of paper
  • New: in the written guide, Previous and Next buttons at the end of each answer move through a topic’s questions and on to the next topic, without going back to the main menu
  • Activity restrictions in the written guide now appear as a bulleted list, with each duration in parentheses, for example “Wear an eye shield overnight (7 days)”
  • Recorded costs and postoperative drop plans now appear as bulleted lists when there are two or more, so prices and drop tapers are easier to read
  • Prices now include commas, for example $1,500 instead of $1500
  • New: Copy buttons for each doctor’s patient link, on the doctor’s Profile tab and next to the patient link at the top of each doctor’s page

Beta 0.4.3 · Oct 13

  • Contact lens and artificial tears guidance now refers to the “pre-operative eye measurements” rather than the “pre-op appointment,” since many practices take measurements before or separately from the doctor’s pre-op visit
  • Fixed: spaces can now be typed in the custom medication drop name and dosing boxes
  • Fixed: contact lens and artificial tears answers no longer end with an unrelated note about diabetes medicines; that note now appears only with fasting, anesthesia and morning-medication answers

Beta 0.4.2 · Oct 11

  • Vera answers urgent symptom and medication questions right away, without an introductory phrase first
  • Vera no longer reintroduces herself partway through a conversation
  • Behind-the-scenes settings that let us test newer voice models before they reach your patients

Beta 0.4.1 · Oct 10

  • When a voice conversation ends abruptly (for example, a phone’s browser is closed), its voice line is freed within about 6 minutes instead of an hour, so other patients aren’t kept waiting

Beta 0.4.0 · Oct 10

  • New: click the version badge to see what changed in each release
  • New: each doctor’s page shows whether their patient link is live, with one-click switches to take it offline and to turn Vera’s voice on or off
  • Making a doctor live now turns on Vera’s voice for them too, unless their voice was switched off on purpose
  • When voice isn’t available, patients go straight to the written guide instead of seeing a microphone error
  • New: an optional custom contact lens note, which Vera includes with every contact lens answer
  • Artificial tears can now be set to start before the pre-op appointment, before surgery, or both
  • Patient pages now show the VeraBlue icon in browser tabs, bookmarks and iPhone home screens

Beta 0.3.8 · Oct 10

  • Captions and pictures now stay in step with Vera’s voice after a patient interrupts her with Stop & speak
  • The cornea-curvature picture now reliably appears when Vera explains astigmatism
  • The recovery picture now appears on time in the surgery-day explanation

Beta 0.3.7 · Oct 10

  • Shared links to a doctor’s guide now show an updated preview card with Vera’s new portrait
  • Long voice conversations stay quicker and cost less, because Vera no longer re-reads repeated picture instructions with every question

Beta 0.3.6 · Oct 9

  • Behind-the-scenes groundwork for a separate test environment, so future updates are tested before they reach your practice
  • You’ll be asked to sign in again once after this update, including your authenticator code
  • Each doctor’s patient link goes live as soon as their guidance is published and their profile is set to Active

Beta 0.3.5 · Oct 7

  • Voice calls that end abruptly (such as closing the browser on an iPhone) now close properly, so they no longer count against voice capacity
  • New text and email alerts notify the VeraBlue team immediately if voice is switched off or the patient page stops responding

Beta 0.3.4 · Oct 6

  • Fixed newly invited administrators and doctors getting stuck after setting a password
  • An invitation link now only works with the email address it was sent to
  • Clearer messages at each sign-in step

Beta 0.3.3 · Oct 6

  • Fixed pages appearing without their styling (plain text, no layout) after 0.3.2

Beta 0.3.2 · Oct 5

  • Added anonymous voice usage counts (sessions per day, length, peak simultaneous use) to help plan capacity
  • Only start and end times and device type are recorded, never conversation content; test sessions are excluded

Beta 0.3.1 · Oct 5

  • Answer pictures are 10–20× smaller with no visible difference, so they now appear on slow phone connections
  • Lighter animation on iPhones to help older phones

Beta 0.3.0 · Oct 5

  • New: a printable Blank Lens Preference sheet in Patient handouts, branded with your practice and the doctor’s QR code

Beta 0.2.1 · Oct 5

  • Vera explains that glaucoma drops are generally continued around cataract surgery, with final instructions from the surgeon’s office
  • Glaucoma drops are kept separate from the surgery-specific drops

Beta 0.2.0 · Oct 4

  • Vera has a new, more expressive animated portrait
  • Her mouth now moves with her voice
  • Larger portrait on iPads and computers

Beta 0.1.1 · Oct 4

  • Card and letter downloads now match the preview, even with unsaved print settings
  • Voice use is limited to 60 minutes per device per 24 hours

Beta 0.1.0 · Oct 3

  • First numbered release, for the EyeHealth Northwest beta
